What's the best part of any bakery? The smell of freshly-baked pastries. There is nothing better. This bakery also has a small cafe. The menu offers sandwiches, quiches, breakfast items, French toast, waffles, French crepes, salads, soups, and more. They have a small variety of Austrian items as well as Mexican items. What's not to love? They have been in business since 1980 and are family-owned. Small business is the backbone of our country. We have on several occasions ordered cakes from here. The cakes were decadent and scrumptious. I have never eaten here before today. I only wish they offered gluten-free bread for toast and other sandwiches. I ordered a mini quiche, which was smaller than I had anticipated. I got the bacon and cheddar. My bestie got the Black Forest Ham and Brie. When I go back, I am getting that Black Forest ham and Brie. I got a bite, and it was incredibly scrumptious. The sandwich panini was beyond delicious. Of course, how do you go wrong with Brie? My bestie raved about the tomato soup. We both got tomato soup. It was good. Our meals came with a cookie. Our waiter was kind and friendly. Had it not been for the long line, we would have waited to purchase a pastry. We will definitely be back.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Josef's Vienna Bakery & Cafe, and let me tell you, it was an absolutely perfect experience. This place truly is a hidden gem!!! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Their customer service skills go above and beyond. The employees were friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home, which set the tone for the entire visit. As for the food -WOW! Everything was simply delicious. The cakes were fresh, light, and absolutely scrumptious, with just the right amount of sweetness. You could tell they were made with care and high quality ingredients. The breakfast was equally impressive: tasty, satisfying, and not at all greasy. It felt wholesome, and I left feeling full but not heavy. Overall, I highly recommend Josef's Vienna Bakery & Cafe to anyone looking for a cozy spot with incredible food and exceptional service. I will definitely be coming back again! If you’re in the area, don’t miss this place, it’s an experience you won’t regret.

Josef's is a good place to pick up some scrumptious treats and breads as well as pastries. We like to start our bike rides from here and have coffee before we head out.

Came in for a special brunch with my daughter and left so happy that we did. The food was perfect. She had the Bacon Waffles and I ventured into something new with the French Baked Black Forest Ham Eggs. (Those eggs are now may favorite way to have eggs...baked in a ramekin filled with savory black forest ham and cream. And the toast was perfect for soaking up that amazing cream.) Our server was so sweet and checked in several times to make sure we were doing well. The iced mocha were on point, pairing perfectly with our brunch choices. We walked out with several additional pastries for the next day as well. It's pretty busy on Sundays, and a bit loud, but still a great stop.

Very cozy and the staff is always friendly, patient, and welcoming. The food is delicious and well worth the price. I love it here. Usually it's calm enough to seat yourself which is just how I like it.

Josef's never disappoints. Found this local Reno eatery many years ago and it's my go to everytime we take a trip there. I've recommended Josef's to every person that mentions a trip to Reno to me and they to end up becoming repeat visitors. Food never disappoints...always fresh and locally sourced. Next time you are in Reno, especially if you are staying at the Peppermill or Atlantis, skip the casino breakfast/brunch buffet and head over to Josef's. You won't be sorry

Stopped here for a quick lunch and it was delicious! Food was fresh and the service was quick. We ordered the goulash, the tomato soup comfort meal, and the Monte Cristo. Everything arrived hot and tasted pretty good! The roll that came with the goulash was perfect and the grilled cheese sandwich that came with the tomato soup was excellent...just the right mix of toasted and soft. Both soup meals came with a cookie which was kind of terrible honestly. For a bakerynto have such a flavorless chocolate chip cookie was a little disappointing. Also ordered two cake slices from the bakery, a coconut cake and German chocolate cake. The cake tasted fresh, but the coconut cake was on the bland side. The German chocolate cake was really good, we thought we detected a hint of rum (maybe?) that really made the cake stand out. Outside of being a little confused about how the seating/ordering worked, the staff was quyik and very friendly. I would absolutely stop here again (would not get the chocolate chip cookie though).
